Well, after running Windows for a while, you may be curious about your Windows product key. Basically, a product key is required to use Windows to activate itself. You need to bought it, so you can use Windows and get official support from Microsoft. If you bought a laptop from official store, well, Windows is pre-activated from factory, so you don’t need to bother with it. The problem started when you decided to reinstall the Windows because of various reason. If you have linked your Windows into Microsoft Account, you could just sign-in into the account after reinstalling, and then Windows will activated again. Or, you just want to know your product key and make a backup. So, in this post, I will show you how to knew your product key, with simple and easy. Without further ado, lets started!
First, login into Windows as administrator, so the process does not interrupted by User Permission/UAC. Also, I recommend you to Restart the computer, so there are no program blocking the process.
Second, go to “Type here to search” column near the Start button, and type “command prompt”, then, press on “Run as Administrator”. Here is the illustration:
In this black program, type this:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
Then press enter. It will show up your product key. Take a photo/screenshot of it, so you don’t need to type this command again when you need product key.
